The solution
The proposed practical solution is the LandAgritech digital platform, designed to combat land abandonment and improve agricultural resource management by connecting producers with agricultural services (such as soil work, irrigation, and harvesting). The platform also enables real-time tracking of agricultural activities using GPS and video, and empowers women and youth in the agricultural sector.
Objectives of the project
The main objective is to reduce land abandonment and restore degraded ecosystems by facilitating access to agricultural services. The platform also aims to empower women and youth, improve agricultural productivity, and create sustainable economic opportunities, while promoting efficient resource management in rural areas in Tunisia.
Ecological context
This technology is suitable for use in arid and semi-arid areas, which face challenges due to climate change, such as Southern Tunisia. It can be used in environments experiencing land abandonment or degradation, where desertification and water scarcity threaten ecosystems.
