Κύριες δράσεις: αποκατάσταση υποδομών συλλογής νερού, π.χ. έξι αναχώματα στο Wadi El Agarma (ανάκτηση ≈ 3,5 acres και εξασφάλιση νερού για ελαιώνες). Προηγμένα εργαλεία μοντελοποίησης με CIHEAM Bari βοηθούν σε ακριβή διαχείριση νερού & πρόβλεψη απορροής, αυξάνοντας την αποδοτικότητα πόρων.
Ισχυρή εμπλοκή ενδιαφερομένων (εργαστήρια, συνεντεύξεις, SWOT) που ανέδειξε: ελλιπή συντήρηση υποδομών, περιορισμένη πληροφόρηση αγοράς, ανεπαρκή κατάρτιση σε βέλτιστες πρακτικές. Το Lab προωθεί καλύτερη διακυβέρνηση, ενδυνάμωση και ένταξη στην αγορά.
Επιτεύγματα: αποτελεσματική ένταξη γυναικών & νέων, ευκαιρίες για τοπικές επιχειρήσεις (ιδίως μεταποίηση τροφίμων, βιολιπάσματα), ενίσχυση κοινωνικο-οικολογικής ανθεκτικότητας με πρακτικές, τεκμηριωμένες λύσεις.
Το αιγυπτιακό LL αποτελεί συνεργατική καινοτομία και αναδεικνύει ολοκληρωμένη διαχείριση πόρων, κλιματικά έξυπνη γεωργία και εμπλοκή ενδιαφερομένων για βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη & ανθεκτικότητα κοινοτήτων σε ξηρές περιοχές.

Τεχνολογίες και πρακτικές λύσεις που αναπτύχθηκαν σε αυτό το Living Lab
Το SALAM-MED θα δοκιμάσει/επικυρώσει πρακτικές λύσεις στη γεωργία ερήμου του LL Ματρούχ, αντιπροσωπευτική υπεράνυδρων ζωνών (AI<0.05) σε χώρες NENA (Serraj & Boerger, 2020), όπου ο πληθυσμός θα διπλασιαστεί έως το 2050 και η αρούμενη γη είναι μόλις 6,8%.

Thanks to this strong inclination towards research and continuous innovation, it has been able to integrate highly verticalized technologies and skills in the design and implementation of DSS for agricultural support, it has been a supplier to regional agencies for agricultural development in Sardinia, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Lazio and provides its technologies and consultancy to producer associations, agronomic studies (as well as small and large agricultural companies).
